Blogmas 2019: Day Ten - Four Things To Do In London Over Christmas

December can be quite a busy and stressful month for people because of Christmas approaching so you can often find yourself under more pressure at this time of the year as opposed to other times. That’s why I think it’s important to make some time for you or for you and a loved one to enjoy the things around you that London has to offer during Christmas. On that note, I thought I would share just four things you can do at London during Christmas time to either get you in the festive spirit or to take your mind off the stress of the holidays.

See a West End Show
From ‘Mary Poppins’ to ‘& Juliet’ to ‘Mamma Mia’ to ‘The Woman In Black’, there’s something for everyone in London’s West End. If you know me, you’ll know how much I love the theatre and part of the reason I love it so much is because it gives me a few hours to switch off from the outside world and be transformed to another place. Theatre tickets also make a great Christmas present if you’re struggling to buy for someone so click here for more information on what’s on at the moment and booking information. Obviously, theatre tickets can be quite expensive so if you’re more spontaneous then some theatres do offer dayseats, which are available on the day you want to see the show from the box office for £20-£25.

Visit a Christmas Market
If you’re having a hard time with work or school or just life in general and you want a dose of that Christmas magic, then why not visit one of London’s many Christmas Markets. There’s so many to choose from so I’m sure you have one that’s local to you, so it’d make the perfect trip for you to go on your own or with someone else. Grab a hot chocolate (or a mulled wine if that’s to your taste) and browse the markets for as long as the cold will let you. And maybe you’ll even be able to pick up a gift or two! (even if it is a present for yourself)

Go To Winter Wonderland
Nothing says Christmas time more than London’s annual and infamous Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park. The park is transformed into a magical wonderland and you can be whisked away into all things Christmas any day of the week from 10am – 10pm. The wonderland offers everything from rides to shows to meeting Santa. You can go grab food and just take a wander around or you can fully immerse yourself in the experience by going on rides and playing the games they have to offer or even ice skating! Entry is free, but some attractions require a payment, so you’d have to look into it before visiting.

Christmas Carols
If you’re wanting to go for something more traditionally festive then you can’t really go wrong with going to watch/listen to some Christmas carols. Our little community has its own Christmas carols every year which is honestly such a sweet idea. Also, Trafalgar Square is currently home to a group of carol singers as they perform festive favourites for everyone to enjoy around the famous Norwegian tree. As well as this, there are also Christmas markets to enjoy in Trafalgar Square, so the popular tourist spot has a lot to offer you during Christmas.

What are some of your favourite things to do in London during Christmas? Remember to wrap up warm whilst you’re out and about!
