2018 Disney/Pixar Film Releases I'm Looking Forward To

2018 has already seen the release of lots of exciting and record-breaking releases, from Black Panther to Avengers: Infinity War and A Wrinkle In Time. Considering we’re already halfway through the year, you’d think Disney would be done with the big releases but that is far from the case. Here are four major titles that are being released this year that I am excited for.

The Incredibles 2
We’ve waited fourteen years but finally, we get to join Mr. Incredible, Elastigirl, Violet, Dash, Jack-Jack, Edna Mode and Frozone on a new adventure; with the introduction of new characters (personally I am so excited for Sophia Bush’s character – Voyd). It’s widely known that Pixar can produce good sequels (Just take a look at the Toy Story franchise) so I’m excited to see what they’ve got in store for this incredible family. A new film also means new merchandise, which I am always happy about (even if my bank account disagrees) and the Disney Store currently have the new Incredibles range out now so pop online or to your nearest store to check it out!
When: 15th June for the lucky Americans and sadly not until the 13th July if you live in the U.K. For the list of countries release dates, click here.

Christopher Robin
Everyone’s favourite silly old bear and his 100 Acre Woods pals are here to grace our screens for a new, live-action adventure and if you’re like me then you would have had violent goosebumps and/or cried watching the latest trailer. Ewan McGregor will be taking on the role of Pooh’s human best friend; Christopher Robin. Except now Christopher Robin is all grown-up and has his own family but is soon reunited with his childhood best friends when he needs them the most. In my opinion, this film has the potential to be one of Disney’s biggest live-action releases and rightly so, as the trailer looks full of promise and lots of nostalgia. The release of Christopher Robin will also bring in a lot of new Winnie the Pooh merchandise and I can hear a lot of bank accounts crying already (including mine and my girlfriends…)
When: 3rd August for America and once again those in the UK have to wait. Thankfully it’s only a two week wait as we get the film on the 17th August. Full list here.

Ralph Breaks The Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2
Everyone’s favourite wrecker is back and this time, he’s breaking (shouldn’t that be ‘wrecking’?) the internet. Disney are really taking the biscuit with this one, with the involvement of many beloved Disney characters, from the Princesses to Eeyore. The trailer looks very promising and I am very excited to see Ralph and Vanellope venture through the internet. You could say that Disney have taken the metaphorical fourth wall and quite literally…wrecked it. It will definitely be interesting to see the pieces of merchandise that will slowly be introduced throughout the year in the lead-up to the anticipated release of the film.
When: 21st November – America and 30th November for U.K. Can we stop being made to wait for films in a world of internet and spoilers?? Click here for the full list.

Mary Poppins Returns
Our much beloved Nanny is back! Except this time, she looks an awful lot like Emily Blunt. I am so excited for this film. People are always completely divided when it comes to remakes but with a cast that includes Meryl Streep, Ben Whishaw, Angela Lansbury, Colin Firth, Julie Waters, Lin-Manuel Miranda and of course, Dick Van Dyke – you can’t go that wrong, can you? The film is set for an end of the year release and I think this is going to be the Christmas film that takes the box office by storm! Not to mention…lots of Mary Poppins merchandise! (Has anyone worked on that bag yet??) Mary Poppins is also known and loved for its musical numbers so this will definitely be another point of excitement for everyone when the film is released later this year.
When: Christmas Day for America and lo and behold, the U.K actually get this one first, on the 21st December. Full list of release dates here.

So, there we have it! Lots of upcoming exciting releases to keep a plethora of Disney fans happy. Of course, a special mention goes to Ant-Man and the Wasp – the sequel to Ant-Man. I love Marvel films a lot but unfortunately Ant-Man is one I am yet to see! Which 2018 film release are you most excited for?
