Mary Poppins Afternoon Tea At Aqua Shard - Review
A spoon full of sugar helps the medicine go down but it definitely wasn’t needed to help the delicious treats at the Aqua Shard’s Mary Poppins Afternoon Tea go down. Yesterday, my girlfriend and I were lucky enough to have a date night spent on the 31 st floor of The Shard, sipping on ‘Mary’s Tea’, taking in the sweet smell of candy floss being churned and indulging on savoury and sweet treats alike! The Afternoon Tea is available as an homage to P.L Travers books and puts a supercalifragilisticexpialidocious twist on the classic British Afternoon Tea; offering up a selection of tasty sandwiches ranging from a crab and cucumber brioche to Mary’s favourite; crumpets which was served with smoked salmon and cream cheese. Once your savoury palettes are satisfied; you’re greeted with a tea stand with an umbrella on top and boots below it, that presented you with delicious treats such as ‘Strike Me Pink’ sponge and a ‘back to front zoo’ golden syrup tart.
